Intuitive Eating

It's important to feel good in our bodies on this journey of life. They are our physical vehicles that carry us daily. We all know what our ideal weight for our bodies should be, just by how we feel. When we are feeling good with our bodies, it makes our life experiences much more enjoyable. Throughout my life, I have used myself as a guinea pig and have tried different dietary regimes, because I was seeking and searching for answers. I wanted to know what dietary regime would prove to me the best results for skin rejuvenation, fitness, beauty and health. From blood type diet, to paleo, to low FODMAP, to HCLF, and so forth, I found that each type of dietary regime had their specific "benefits". Was any dietary regime the end all be all? I would have to say no.

What I had found was intuitive eating was the most powerful dietary regime over any of these diets. The problem with specific diets, is that they all have a set of rules behind them. Some of these rules don't need to be applied to some of our lives. It can cause us to explode eventually and binge eat, or quit the diet all together. Some individuals have to follow a certain regime because of allergies, sensitivities or health issues, so by all means follow the protocol that is right for you. For the rest of the population out there, follow your gut instinct on what kind of eating schedule and foods are the best for you.


Start by waking up in the morning and communicating to your body. Our bodies are incredibly intuitive. They know what's best for us. Simply talk to your cells and ask them to guide you to the foods, nutrition and sustenance that you need for the best results of health, well-being, fitness and beauty. At first your ego may get a little bit in the way, as the conscious mind tends to. When this happens ask yourself, is this my ego speaking to me, or my intuition? Wait for the answer by feeling it out, or sensing it. Jot down on a notepad how you feel when you consume certain foods. Do you feel more energized? Do you feel sluggish? Pay close attention to what your body is signaling to you.


Another thing that you can do while you intuitively eat is you can track your food. The reason why this is helpful, is because if you are having digestive issues, brain fog, or lethargy for example, you can track back to what you consumed. Pay attention to the patterns that come with certain foods. It is up to us to heal ourselves. Food is the tool that we can use daily to create harmony, balance and healing within. I do believe in balanced eating. A balanced diet is the key to sustainability and sanity (in my opinion).
